Servant Evangelism Projects

The Clarksburg Baptist Church Mission & Outreach Commission sponsors servant evangelism projects throughout the year. These are just practical ways to show God's love. Some examples of past projects were giving out hot chocolate at Christmas time, stamp giveaway during tax day, battery giveaway for smoke dectors, etc.

We will do an event each month, Please check your Calendar of Events for the dates, you can join us for SErvefest. Here are some FAQs About SErvefest.

1. How do I sign up?
That’s easy, you can sign the sheet on the information table outside the sanctuary, or you can just show up.

2. What do I need to bring?
Your smiling face, God’s love to share, everything else is provided.

3. Where do we meet?
We will gather in the Judson center. There will be an information table set up with the servant evangelism activities.

4. What time should I be there?
To help get outreach materials ready, show up 10:00 am and we’ll show you what needs to be done.

To participate on the outreach, arrive around 10:45. When we finish serving we will return to the church between 12:30 and 12:45 for a time of sharing stories and a wrap up. We will be done around 1pm.

5. What about Kids?
Kids of all ages are always welcome. Children are often in demand at nursing home activities.

6. How will I know what to do?

First, remember our mottto is “small things done with great love will change the world”. Keep it simple! We do recognize, though, that doing something for the first time with folks you don’t know can be intimidating. That’s why we try to explain things and provide some leadership.

7. What Outreaches will we do?
There are a variety of outreaches you can choose from; right now there will be at least three to choose from. They will be flexible depending what the weather is or last minute events that are happening.

  • Service Projects:
Practical acts of community service. You might serve a local business or go door-to-door to serve with no strings attached. Projects may include restroom cleaning, windshield cleaning, car washes, different based on
    weather.
  • Kindness Give-Aways:
Spreading God’s kindness by giving away free stuff as a demonstration of God’s free grace! Examples include free drinks, kites, freezer pops for kids.
  • Mercy-Related Touches:
Reaching out to those in need, with time for listening and praying one-on-one. We feed the mission, we are also going to deliver groceries or practical household items to families in need, and visit the elderly.
